Waste not, want not. This table was developed out of wanting to find a use for offcuts from my "Tricoid" table. Initially I made round tables but found that they cracked when the wood contracted. By not making a complete 360 degree top the two half segments can move without cracking. Having a tiered table harks back to the fifties when tiered end tables were all the rage.
