Recently I got some walnut from a neighbor that had been taken down by his father about 40 years ago. It was turned into boards and used for various projects along the way. The last of it were three 9ft boards that had been sitting in his garage for about twenty years. I am turning them into a set of nesting tables. At the same time I am also making a set out of recently purchased kiln dried walnut.
On the left is the new walnut the right is the old. The pieces in the middle show them both with Danish oil applied.
